The Cottage

Sobae Sanso is a newly renovated, cute two-bedroom A-frame cottage nestled in the wooded streets of Misorano Forest. The cottage is located a few minutes walk from Echoland, the dining and entertainment hub of Hakuba Valley, which boasts a large array of traditional Japanese restaurants, as well as international dining options. Sobae Sanso is located just a few minutes walk from the shuttle stop, where you can catch buses taking you to all the major ski resorts in the area.

The cottage makes perfect accommodation for four people in comfort.

living spaces

Downstairs, offering views of the surrounding forest, is an open-plan space incorporating the lounge, dining area and kitchen.

The chic lounge area has sloping walls showing off the structure of the A-frame and a huge floor to ceiling window offering views of the forest. There is a flat screen TV, with accompanying Apple TV, allowing you to watch the latest movies and TV shows. Or listen to some tunes on the Bluetooth speaker. Needless to say, the chalet is also equipped with Japan’s blazing-fast broadband internet and WiFi. The powerful fan-assisted heater will keep you toasty warm.

The dining area adjacent to the kitchen has a round oak table where you can enjoy cosy evenings eating-in, or family breakfasts in the morning while admiring the snow scene outside.

The modern newly fitted kitchen features a fridge/freezer, an induction cooktop and a full-size oven. The kitchen is equipped with all the appliances and utensils you'll need for cooking anything from quick and simple breakfasts to gourmet meals.

bedrooms

Sobae Sanso has two double bedrooms on the second floor, sleeping four adults in comfort. The bedrooms are at the apex of the A-frame structure, offering a unique space. The beds in both rooms can be configured as two singles or one king, giving maximum flexibility.

BATHROOM

The cottage has one bathroom downstairs, equipped with a shower, and a separate toilet next door. Guests can enjoy traditional Japanese bathing at one of the nearby Onsen hot springs, just a few minutes walk away.

OUTDOOR SPACE

At the back of the house, accessible from the patio doors in the living room, is a large secluded hardwood deck with a BBQ and table and chairs — a perfect setting for outdoor feasts during the spring, summer, and autumn seasons.

Location

Sobae Sanso is located in Misorano Forest, just a few minutes walk from the dining and entertainment hub of Echoland. Free shuttle buses to all of the main resorts in the area pick up close to the house — just 3-4 minutes’ walk away. From there you can take buses to Hakuba Goryu (both Escal Plaza and Iimori areas), Hakuba 47, Happo-One, and Iwatake resorts — giving you great flexibility to explore all of what Hakuba has to offer.

In the late afternoons and evenings, there's also the Genki-Go shuttle bus, which has routes all around town — convenient for visiting the supermarket or bars and restaurants in other areas. 

There are onsen (Japanese hot springs) in hotels within a few minutes walk of the cottage. A great way to relax after a day on the slopes, and just a short stroll home afterwards.
